Drill: Mental Pressure

This month's drill is really just a target modification. Any drill using mutiple silhouettes can be performed with this modification.

Many of us work our firearms against faceless silhouettes. Cardboard competition targets, bulls eyes, and various shapes make up the bulk of our targetry. But why?

We need to remember that if we are shooting at depictions of people, not just a target. With that in mind, I would like you to consider putting faces to the no shoot targets. Imagine that the no shoot target or the hostage is someone you actually care about. Pass a picture of them if you wish, but remember we CANNOT SHOOT THEM! Often, competitions issue penalties for shooting the no shoot targets. We need to understand that these no shoot targets are innocent people, potentially including our family members.

Amp up your training and make your high risk shots actually mean something.
