Drill: Time Machine

Updated: Jan 31, 2020

This is a Frank Proctor designed drill. Proctor is a former US Army Special Forces soldiers and a current USPSA Grand Master.

This drill is designed to push your ability to see the cycle of the firearm. The focus of this drill is to watch the slide cycle and get used to assessing your recoil management and follow up speed. By seeing the slide cycle, you can get a baseline on what it looks like when you control recoil. You can then see what you are doing wrong more readily when it happens.

Drill:

Rounds: 16 shots on target (as fast as you can clearly see the slide cycle)

Targets: Between 1 and 8 targets (more is better)

Distance: Variable 5-15 yards

Your focus should be on the current repetition, not on the future shots or checking your past shots.
