The Streamlight Protac 1L-1AA is a compact, very cariable handheld flashlight at just over four inches long. Along with it’s small size, it is U.S. Made and an affordable option which makes this an attractive choice. It comes with a pocket clip to secure it to your pants. The steel pocket clip that Streamlight provides has a decent hold on the flashlight but I wish it wrapped all the way around the flashlight body. I have had it detach from the flashlight body with just normal daily activities. This flashlight will run on one CR123 or one AA. When loading it with one AA battery it is 150 lumens, with a CR123 battery it puts out 350 lumens which didn’t sound too bad at first. Now I have come to the conclusion that this is not bright enough for me as my primary carry light. A minimum of 500 lumens is needed in order to use the light as a deterrent against a possible threat if ever needed. For me, it will make a nice flashlight for the vehicle or toolbox.

In the last few months we started carrying Athlon Optics at the store. They seem to be very clear. The eye box is very forgiving. You can feel and hear the clicks when you are making your adjustments.
