I am not familiar with the origins of this drill, only the setup and execution. The video with Bill Blowers says only who invented it and the intention.
The Finnegans Wake drill is a simple, difficult drill done for accuracy on a time standard. It is a simple single hand shooting drill. There will be no two hand shooting during this drill.
The course is easy to remember:
5 rounds STRONG HAND ONLY, then 5 rounds WEAK HAND ONLY.
Time Standards:
1) 7 Seconds at the 7 yard line
2) 10 seconds at the 10 yard line
3) 15 seconds at the 15 yard line
Target: B8 repair center
Scoring: simple B8 scoring, however shots outside the 8 ring ARE A ZERO. This means we have to be precise and use the time wisely. Dropping from 8 points to a zero is a big difference. Final score is out of 300 points.
