With many of us focusing on holiday shopping, we are often in a very joyous and giving mood. While this is a wonderful time of the year, make sure that you remain aware of your surroundings. The holiday season in filled with reports of theft, including robbery.
When moving in and out of vehicles and stores, always take a look around to make sure nothing seems out of place. The act of looking can also act as a deterrent for a possible theft. Be prudent with your wallet if you pay for items with cash. When transporting packages, do not pile them to where movement or vision is impaired. If possible, keep your strong hand free to access your tools, or just to use for keys, flashlights or even to catch yourself if you slip on some ice.
