Matt Little is a former US Army Special Forces soldier and Chicago Police Officer. His experiece in both these realms has led him to pursue USPSA competition, where he is a grandmaster. Needless to say, Matt has a well rounded view on what it takes to be a good shooter.

Matt's book, The Way is in Training, is a book of lessons learned for anyone who wants to be better prepared for their own safety, but also has practical material to apply to everyday life.

Matt addresses the need to be prepared with the equipment you carry, the mindset you have, and the fitness you maintain. He devotes a whole section of the book to weight lifting and fitness, and breaks down routines well to help new lifters get started. His mindset portion of the book outlines some specific techniques you can do to increase your awareness, and brings up some potential examples of how mindset wins fights.

Matt wrote this book to engage people in their own journey. Much like the Book of Five Rings it has short, sections with good advice for any defensive minded citizen.

Be safe. Be well.
